10 YEARS Drummer: 'We Promise A Record That You Have Not Heard Before'
November 19, 2006Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS has commenced the songwriting process for its sophomore album, tentatively due next year.
Commented drummer Brian Vodinh: "Wow... I'm pretty sure that will be one of the first words to pop into your mind after finally hearing the music that we have been working on. We are a month or so into writing and it couldn't be going better.
"Spending a year and a half on the road touring has influenced our writing to be so instinctual and very natural. Songs have been 'happening' as opposed to being the product of a process.
"Bottom line: This record is going to deliver every emotion we provided you before, but this time on a much heightened level. We promise a record that you have not heard before.
"In a time of bullshit pop rock and cheese wiz ballads, we will once again offer you the escape you have all been looking for."
10 YEARS earlier in the year made an EP of four acoustic tracks available exclusively through the iTunes online music store. The digital EP includes unplugged versions of the band's first rock radio hit, "Wasteland", as well as their current single, "Through the Iris".
10 YEARS' debut release, "The Autumn Effect", has sold more than 350,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group made its arena tour debut as the opening act for KORN and MUDVAYNE.
